What is a digital twin?
A digital twin is a model fit for simulations of the real world installation, down to the layout, geomemtry, materials, and environmental loads the real installation experiences.
By analyzing and experimenting with the digital twin, organizations can gain a deeper understanding of the physical entity, enhance decision-making, optimize operations, and improve overall performance, all in a virtual environment.
AquaSim offers a wide range of materials and geometries that can be simulated. From simple moorings to complex nets, impermable tarps, and also entierly closed systems, all whilst being interconnected.
The value of a digital twin
Using the digital twin, current and predicted weather loads, be they wind, current, or waves, can be applied. The model will show how the installation will react to the upcoming weather. Further the distribution of food pellets and feces can be simulated, giving the operators advanced knowledge of which patterns are most beneficial.
Advanced models can also apply the forces of ships mooring themselves to the structure, or lift operations, and how the forces will be distributed through the system.
