Changelog for release 2.19
AquaSim
- Updates for membranes for more analysis possibilities.
- No-compression for membranes introduced also for diamond shaped meshed.
- It has been made possible to introduce nonlinear relationship between force and elongation for flag-shaped membranes.
- Introduction of BEM method for wind-turbines, and functionality for easy modeling of wind turbines. Activation of functionality for a “Quick-design” possibility for wind turbine analysis and output parameters for easy handling of results.
- Introduction of functionality and parameters to include internal og external PI controllers to wind turbines. External controllers can be applied tailor made by user through a Python interface.
- Activation of the delta function for contact between elements in components such that one can reduce number of contact elements.
- Raileigh damping for beams introduced also for beams with lift loads applied.
- Enhancements for the handling of wind such that more component types automatically will have windloads introduced to them in case they are above the water line. Wind introduced to most component types including hexagonal nets and Morison freeplates.
- Update in current reduction functionality such that one have the possibility to account also for wind reduction in case components cover for succeeding components for wind. Also current reduction can be calculated for beam components and behind beam components.
- Enhancements of spring and node load choice possibilities.
- Linebreak functionality. Possibility to introduce linebreak at a given load level as alternative to a given step in analysis.
- Adjustments in results presentations. Rotating velocity is presented as RPM instead of DEG/s. Accelerations and velocity is presented by averaging two timesteps.
- Generalization of algorithm for calculations of current loads to impermeable membranes and shell. (Presented in report TR-FOU-100004-6?)
- Advanced buoyancy functionality introduced. This can be important to use in case vertical beams are used stretching far down in the water.
- More possibilities on Morison elements. One may account for boxed in sea more easily by utilizing the possibility to introduce tangential added mass. Also longitudinal drag coefficient has been changed so that it refers to the cross sectional area instead of surface.
- Adjustments to the slamming area / coefficients for square Morison load beams to enhance convergence.
