In this case study you have established a system with a bottom weight, mooring rope, and float. The aim of this system was to show one method of modelling contact between a bottom weight and seabed. When the horizontal force in the rope exceeds the frictional force, the bottom weight will slip and start to displace.

This case study shows one possible solution to model bottom contact and friction. Other solutions may be applied as well. For example, the Pointload rendering the bottom weight could be replaced by BEAM component with weight and cross-sectional stiffness.
