Summary
Last reviewed version: 2.16.4We modelled a simple beam to introduce the AquaSim interface and analysis functionality. A static analysis was conducted with two different discretization of the model: one with 1 element and the second with 10 elements.
We have seen that the number of elements in the beam affect results from the analysis, it becomes more accurate with more elements. If you had divided the beam into more than 10 elements, you might see the shear force increase slightly more.
At some point you will see that further increase of elements in the model will not affect the results; it converges to a final value. However, the more elements your model contain, the more comprehensive and time-consuming the calculations becomes.
