Main Components of Aquaculture Facility

Most aquaculture facilities consist of an enclosure, permeable or impermeable, connected to a floating unit in the waterline. The classical facility is equipped with a permeable net pen and a floating collar as the floating unit. Together these are referred to as cages. The figure below shows a single cage situated in a frame mooring system. In each corner of the frame, buoys are attached providing buoyancy to the frame and ease access to components during maintenance. Technical data of the components are described in the table below.
